Keuka College has been recognized by Colleges of Distinction for three of its professional programs.
Already honored as a College of Distinction for its high-impact approach to education, Keuka College has received specialized recognition for its business, education, and nursing programs. These additional accolades highlight the College’s comprehensive curricula not only in course material, but also in practical- and soft-skills development. Colleges of Distinction cited the College for blending liberal arts education, program-specific training, and abundant opportunities for real-world application.
“Student success is a given at Keuka College,” said Tyson Schritter, chief operating officer for Colleges of Distinction. “All of its programs are backed with broad perspectives across the liberal arts. Every student is pushed to be inquisitive and active. And with such extensive experiential learning opportunities, it’s no wonder why Keuka College’s graduates feel expertly prepared by their professional education.”
Over the past two decades, the job market has changed exponentially, making it even more necessary for graduates to enter the workforce with adaptability and sharp critical thinking skills, Schritter noted. Such qualities are best developed through the hands-on experiences offered at Keuka College, he said.
Keuka College’s Division of Business and Management, accredited by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE), teaches students how to lead people, use resources wisely, and achieve career success. The College offers undergraduate programs in accounting, applied math and finance, communication studies, finance, management, management 3+1, and organizational management. The College also offers a master’s degree in management, as well as several minors.
Keuka College’s Division of Educational Studies allows its students to pursue degrees in education, where they are exposed to a classroom setting as early as their freshman year. The College’s undergraduate education programs include adolescent education, adolescent special education generalist, childhood education, early childhood education, and educational studies. In addition, students can pursue a master’s degree in literacy, or add a minor in teaching English abroad or education.
Keuka College’s nursing program was established in 1943, and its Division of Nursing is accredited by the New York State Board of Regents and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Offering undergraduate, graduate, and certification programs, Keuka College’s nursing curricula include nurse practitioner (AGPCNP), nursing (dual degree), nursing education, and nursing (RN to BS).
The College’s specialized badges in business, education, and nursing represent a curriculum that invests in students’ innovative and critical thinking. Colleges of Distinction grants this honor after a thorough review of such qualities as accreditation, breadth of program, and a track record for success.
