KC Alumni Mega Meet-ups - Wherever You Are

Saturday, Oct. 19, has been designated by fellow alumni as a Mega Meet-up Day, when Regional Alumni Networks and other alumni around the country meet up with local alums for lunch, drinks, or an activity. Wear your favorite KC gear and gather at a favorite spot in your area. The goal is to have as many alumni as we can gather at the same time spread throughout the country – or even the world! Whether it’s two or three of you or 20, it’s all about getting Keuka College alumni together. 

Planned Mega Meet-Ups:
- Connecticut 
- Northern Florida
- Lunch at the Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA
- Southern Maine
- Maryland/Washington, DC
- Glass Blowing in Corning, NY
- Finger Lakes, NY
- Albany, NY
- Rochester, NY
- Syracuse, NY
- Lunch at Carrabbas Resturant, Allentown, PA
- Virtual Global Network Zoom

Here's how to plan your Mega Meet-up:

1. Notify Laurie Adams in the alumni office by September 17th if you’re willing to take the lead. (315-279-5683 or [email protected])

2. Pick a location for everyone to meet. (See suggestions below.)

3. The alumni office sends a list of alumni in that area to the organizer. The event organizer writes a note or email for us to send inviting people in that area to join them at this location on Saturday, October 19th, between 12 – 2 p.m. (Your time zone). OR the organizer uses the list of alumni to send personal invitations. One of our organizers had great luck sending a personal invitation from her to those on her list. Some she called. Depending on your event, if you also want to invite family members or friends, that’s up to you. You decide based on your event.

5. On the day of the meet up, you get together to meet, enjoy each other’s company, and hang out. 

6. Don’t worry about group size. Even getting 3 – 4 KC alumni together for a meet-up qualifies.  

7. Take a photo of your group wherever you are, post it on your personal FB page (if you’re okay with this. It’s not required.) Post the location, names and class years of attendees. Then, ALSO, send the same information to Sarah Richardson, member of the New England R.A.N., who will compile all photos and information for one post on the KC Alumni Official FB Group page. Text info to Sarah @ 716-445-7689 or email: [email protected]. (Text preferred.) 
(Again, you don’t have to put it on your personal page, but if you do that and then give some information about Keuka College in your post, then you’re helping spread the word about your alma mater and maybe a prospective student will hear about it and come to take a look!)

8. That's it! If possible, we'll send a swag kit to you so you have KC swag to give everyone who is attending.


Possible events/activities, but there are so many other ideas, too:
- Lunch somewhere
- Go to a show or movie
- Clean a park
- Volunteer at a soup kitchen
- Visit senior citizens in a nursing home
- Paint ‘n Sip
- Group craft at a craft shop
- Visit a museum
- Go to a zoo
- Attend a sporting event
- Go to a lake or beach
- Go for a hike on a trail or in a neighborhood
- Go bowling
- Go biking
- Go to a winery/brewery/etc. 
- Go to ice cream shop
- Play cards or board games
